Crystal Zamora was born into a family of artists and dancers. Born into the Mexica tradition, she was expected to learn the indigenous dances of her ancestors and join her family's professional dance group. At the age of 5 Crystal began to study with Eva Encinias at the Conservatory of Flamenco Arts. Crystal danced pre-professionally with Eva for 20 years. At the University of New Mexico Crystal studied dance and obtained a minor in dance. While studying at UNM Crystal fell in love with street dance culture and dance, specifically Breaking. At 18 Crystal began studying and learning the culture, history, and dance of Hip-Hop. This is Crystal's first season teaching at NMBC.
