Take your technique and artistry to the next level at NMBC’s Summer Intensive featuring daily classes taught by Guest Artists from around the country and NMBC Faculty. One-week and two-week options are available July 24 – August 5, 2023, for dancers aged 8 and up! Dancers who do not currently study at NMBC may submit a short audition video for level placement (see below for details), or attend an in-person placement class at NMBC. • Guest Artist Intensive

  • High intermediate & advanced level students aged 12+, or current NMBC Levels 3/4/5
  • Daily classes taught by Guest Artists in ballet, pointe & variations, jazz, modern, improvisation, repertoire, dancer wellness, and more. Students not on pointe may take all pointe & variations classes in flat shoes.
  • Week 1 Schedule: Monday – Friday 10:00am–4:00pm & Saturday 10:00am–2:00pm
  • Week 2 Schedule: Monday – Wednesday 10:00am–4:00pm; Thursday & Friday 4:30-8:30pm; Saturday 10:00am–2:00pm *schedule change due to new APS start date on August 3*
  • Non-refundable enrollment deposit due upon registration: $100
  • Tuition per week: Early bird $525, pay by April 30 / Late $575, pay by July 15. Enrollment deposit will be applied toward tuition.

• Young Dancer Intensive 

  • Intermediate level students aged 10+ with at least two years of prior dance experience, or current NMBC Level 2. 
  • Daily classes taught by NMBC Faculty in ballet, jazz, modern, dancer wellness, repertoire, and more. 
  • Week 1 Schedule: Monday – Friday 12:30pm–4:00pm & Saturday 11:00am–2:00pm
  • Week 2 Schedule: Monday – Wednesday 12:30–4:00pm; Thursday & Friday 5:30-8:30pm; Saturday 11:00am–2:00pm *schedule change due to new APS start date on August 3*
  • Non-refundable enrollment deposit due upon registration: $100
  • Tuition per week: Early bird $310, pay by April 30 / Late $350, pay by July 15. Enrollment deposit will be applied toward tuition.

• Beginner Workshop 

  • Beginning level students aged 8+ with at least one semester of prior dance experience, or current NMBC Level 1.
  • Daily classes taught by NMBC Faculty in ballet, jazz, and modern. 
  • Week 1 Schedule: Mon/Wed/Fri/Sat 10:00am–11:00am & Tue/Thu 10:00am–12:00pm. 
  • Week 2 Schedule: Monday & Wednesday & Saturday 10:00–11:00am; Tuesday 10:00am-12:00pm; Thursday 4:30-6:30pm; Friday 4:30-5:30pm *schedule change due to new APS start date on August 3*
  • Non-refundable enrollment deposit due upon registration: $50
  • Tuition per week: Early bird $110, pay by April 30 / Late $150, pay by July 15. Enrollment deposit will be applied toward tuition.

• Video Audition/Placement Requirements

  • Email materials and video links to nmbcschool@gmail.com with subject: Summer Intensive Audition no later than April 30, 2023.
  • Include dancer's full name, age, date of birth, years of dance experience, and current dance school. Resumé and a photo in first arabesque are encouraged but not required.
  • Video should be no more than 10 minutes maximum:
    • Barre exercises (one side only): Plié, tendu, rond de jambe, fondu, frappé, developpé, grand battement.
    • Center exercises: Pirouettes en dehors and en dedans, Petit allegro, Grand allegro.
    • Pointe exercises (if applicable): Any combination of réleves on two feet (including echappé); Any combination of réleves on one foot (including passé); Pirouettes en dehors and en dedans; Traveling turns along the diagonal.
