Wendy Rubin has been teaching dance for forty years, first in the Denver area, then San Diego, and currently in Albuquerque. She was born in Freeport, Long Island, NY, where she started her dance studies as a child. She was a dance major at Butler University before finishing her college education in liberal arts at SUNY-Binghamton. When her young daughter started pre-ballet classes in Colorado, Wendy returned to dance classes too, and was soon asked to teach. Her love for teaching all ages and levels has kept her involved in the field, including twenty summers of teaching at ballet intensives in Snowmass, CO (DanceAspen) and Taos Ski Valley, NM (the Jillana School). At present she teaches intermediate and advanced ballet and pointe for New Mexico Ballet Company, helps coach NMBC dancers and performs character roles in company productions.
